The Webster Square Business Association Pledges Its Support To The Goddard Memorial Fund
Vol. 1, No. 3 - Spring 2001
On March 15, 2001, members of the Webster Square Business Association met at the Webster House for breakfast and a slide presentation by Goddard Association's spokesperson, Barbara Berka. Following her presentation, president Joe Cutroni Jr., acting on behalf of the WSBA'S Board of Directors, pledged $1000 to the Goddard Association's Memorial fund.
The WSBA represents nearly one hundred busi churches, schools, restaurants, shops, stores, entrepreneurs and organizations in the Webster Square area.
Goddard's association with the Webster Square area is strong. He was born on Tallawanda Drive and was educated at South High School and Clark University. Some anecdotal evidence exists that he conducted his very early rocketry experiments within the boundaries of Cider Mill Park, near the site of the proposed Memorial.
Over the past two years Barbara has brought her outreach presentation to many area organizations, most recently to the Park Congregational Church in Worcester, and The Hall Club of Worcester. She has taught "Space Exploration, RHG's Legacy", as a part of the WISE program at Assumption College, and is available to speak to your group. Her presentation includes slides and an historical video (if equipment to show video tape on a large screen is available). For more information, call 508-799-0091.
