Site Report
Vol. 2, No. 1 - Winter 2004
The Goddard Memorial site is resting over the winter, and we will assess its condition come spring. We can report that grass that had been seeded was spreading a solid green carpet before the snow fell, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' flag joined the United States flag, waving briskly over the site, and that the students from South High Community School have been active "site guardians", ensuring that the site is litter free. Thank you for a great job!
Some trial crocus bulbs were planted wherever possible, but most of the soil was too compacted to receive daffodil bulbs. In the spring we are planning to construct raised beds to contain bulbs, perennial flowers, and low-growing shrubs.
